v70 wagon fwd V70-XC70 1999

Hi.

The bubble is the start of delamination and will eventually result in the enture vinyl skin hanging loose.

Here is a fix that will require some skill.

1. Remove the door panel from the car.
2. Beginning at the area where the bubble is ,slowly pull the vinyl away from the foam backing until you reach an area that is firmly attached (maybe).
3. Get an adhesive from an upholstery shop that will not dissolve the foam still attached to the panel.
4. Apply it THINLY and EVENLY and gently press the vinyl back into place working from the secured area to the area where the delamination began.
5. The trick is to use very little adhesive so that the panel surface is even.

FYI, the factory "fix" kit is @$40.00 US. But, it is not the same quality as the original. You'll know what I mean if you go that route.

As for Volvo Customer Service--they will be very gracious in telling you that you are SOL.

A new panel is $380.US from Swedish Engineering. Best price and best service.

Bryan
