The trip computer is the little LCD panel below your speedo. If you have that option (standard on turbo 850s), you will be able to read out gas mileage, temp, miles left to empty tank, etc etc. If not, you'll just have a clock down there. It's just an option, no direct integration with the VDO cluster or the ECU. I'm sure it gets info from the ECU, but it is a seperate module.
