Tire Recommendations V70-XC70

Well, I'll add another vote for the Dunlop SP Sport 5000's. It's a qualified vote though, I haven't driven them in snow. My wife has a set on her car and they're great, but I took one look at the tread pattern, and bought set of winter wheels/tires. You have AWD, which will definitely help to compensate when you want to get moving or climb those hills. However, it won't help when it's time to stop at the bottom of the other side. The tires you mentioned are biased toward summer use. When they are described, you'll see the term "light snow" used a lot. You live in Boulder right? Hmmmm. My advice, by a good set winter tires on steel rims for winter, you won't be dissapointed. But, if you want an all season tire, and and you have to drive in real snow, buy a real all season tire, not the "high performance" all season tires you've mentioned. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Good luck with your decision.

Koz.
