I just use an old scissors jack under the front cross member to raise the front enough to get underneath, you just need to take some of the load off the front springs, not get the wheels off the ground. I can always get the filter off by hand because I did the last oil change and did not overtighten it. I use Volvo filters from Brentwood Volvo, bought six at a time.
Drain plug is 17mm in the back of the flat oil pan. Don't know about the torque, but I replace the aluminum crush washer every time. You just need the plug tight enough to not back out, but not so tight that you strip the threads of the alloy pan. I just do it by feel. You need a large oil pan to hold all the oil capacity.
Don't burn your hands on hot oil.
