I had the same problem with the same speaker. But there were no rips in it. My indy tech said it was susceptible to foreign matter vibrating on it's surface, so I blew the cavity out with a $10 can of compressed air (with a vacuum running to draw out whatever I loosened up). That was two weeks ago. So far, so good.
