Hey Bill, like the other guys said, long piece of pipe. I have a 6ft. length of pipe I have used for the last 20 yrs. It only takes about 40 lbs at the 6ft. point, to loosen a 240ft lb. flywhl. nut on VW aircooleds. It's so smooth and easy to loosen this way that I believe it is easier on all the component parts.
I forgot to mention that I also have a matching 6ft. long piece of angle iron drilled with many different hole patterns to accept lug bolt hole spacing on various cars and flywhl. hole patterns also. You just bolt the angle iron to the brake rotor or other item and then place the other end on the on the ground and IT, takes all the torque, instead of the PARK PAWL or gears in a tranny. With this set-up, your wife could remove this axle nut. Tom
