850 transmission problems? 850

Possibly a bad clutch trow out bearing ?

Does it happen only when releasing the clutch and then underway the noise subsides?

Could be you are due for a new clutch/throw-out bearing. 62K miles would be about right for that depending on if the miles were largely in city stop and go driving.

Doubt you have a serious problem.
