The link rods should have ZERO play on them when a pry bar is used on the ball joints on both ends. As for the upper spring seat a.k.a. strut bearing plate, simply open up the hood, and push down on the car so as to cause suspension travel. If the top of the strut moves, it has probably failed. As for the anti-roll bar, remove both link rods and go for a drive over the same conditions that cause the noise. Be sure not to over do turns as the roll of the car will now be greater and because you will not be used to the change in dynamics, the limits of cornering will have changed. If when doing this test, the noise does not occur, it is probably either the link rods or the anti-roll bar, and if you perform the link rod test, you will then be able to know which component exactly has failed.
