16x6.5 rims.
before u go out and spend 200 bucks at a refurbished seller or less at a junkyard. file a claim!!
i would quickly go take a picture of the pothole, as many good pics as necessary (2~3 should suffice if u can get a good shot). keep all ur receipts, no doubt that includes alignment, new tires, and ur new wheel (which u should be getting anyway). made duplicates of everything.
first, file a claim against the city in which the pothole is in. if it's on the highway, file it against caltrain (at which they will determine if it's their negligence or a contractor's fault). give ur copies of photo and receipt along with the claim. ur white pages should be able to give u numbers to file a claim against. if not, simply go down to the city hall and ask for the claims office. they should reimburse u for most of the cost.
second, if the city refuses to budge, then go to ur insurance... use this as last resort.
i have successfully filed 3 out of 3 claims, due to pothole damage (although i would've asked for new rims if i had known they were bent, which they were). 1) berkeley, 2) san francisco, and 3) caltrain (who asked to settle 50%, i refused), so caltrain sent the claim to the contractor, who paid in full. only san francisco was cheap in saying a 10k tires is worn and deducted $50.
