More details needed:
Does the car stall on highway (symptom 1), or is the problem that you can not start the car (symptom 2) ?
Symptom 1.
Are there any fuel left? Some early cars may have incorrect fuel gauge sender in the tank. It may indicate more fuel in the info display but still be empty tank.
Early cars as this one, M/Y 1999, may need new softwares in ther main computer and in transmission and engine control units, if this has not been done yet.
Have the workshop connected the car to their diagnostic tool, and read out fault codes? If there are fault codes in the vahicle then it will be more easy to find the problem.
Symptom 2.
Remove all non-used keys with transponders from the ignition lock, the immobilizer antenna may get confused if there are more than one ignition key near it.
