The solenoids are located in the transmission valve body. To change them, you will have to raise the engine a bit and release the subframe. This job is 6 to 8 hours to complete. It gets even more expensive when you calculate the cost of the solenoids. There are three solenoids: s1, s2, and SL. The first one controls 1st and 2nd gear, the second 3rd and 4th gear, and the last controls the torque converter. If you are going to do this job, I suggest you replace all of them. There's no sense in using up 8 hours and then maybe another goes bad. In my experience this happens regularly, one goes, and then another. The solenoids are a little above $100 each.
