Well the only advise I can offer is AutoZone, Schucks, Napa, etc. Before I got my scan tool they would check the codes and would reset for me. When I bought my second Volvo I figured with 2 OBD2 vehicles the tool was worth it. I had tried the disco of the battery with no luck before, 1996 850GLT NA. Sorry not much help otherwise.
