VolvoSpeed, Bay13 and you will find the actual Volvo flush method. There is no mention of replacing the filter. Just flushed mine last month and didn't mess with a filter. Since I sell gaskets for a living, I'd expect you need to drop the pan to get to the filter. Volvo trans pan gaskets are molded rubber designs so plan on paying a bit. Not too many aftermarket gaskets like this out there becuase those guys can't afford the gasket tooling. Stick with the O.E. gasket in this case.
