NO filter 850 1994

The 850 has no serviceable filter. The guy telling you that is use to domestic cars. Now, if you're ever unfortunate enough to buy an S80 with its GM trans, THAT trans has a filter.
There is a screen bolted to the 850 trans valve body (like 200s/700s/900s) but it's got no service interval and never needs cleaning, doesn't clog up normally. If there was enough debris in the trans to clog that, your trans would be toast long before that ever occured.
Just do a trans flush the Bay13 method, even easier if one uses the top cooler line instead but that doesn't flush the cooler.
