Cigarette Lighter in Center Console pushed through V70-XC70 1998

While cleaning the interior of our 1998 V70, I inadvertantly pushed the cigarette lighter through the center console. I can reach the lighter and pull it up, but not all the way back through the opening. I do not know if any of the side plastic was broken (it was a balmy 25 degrees in WI) which may prevent me from getting the lighter to click back into place.

Do I need to replace the center console surround? Do I need to dismantle the console to properly return the lighter to its original position? How big of a job is it to get at the underside of the center console?

Help!! We're running the cellphone out of the back end of the console for now.
