A few comments:
1. Does the alignment pass spec, or is something bent? Your suspension issues are abnormal.
2. Your continuing A/C problems do not make sense. A replacement evaporator should last many years at least.
3. Volvos do eat brakes, but your prices and frequency sounds high. Figure on new front pads every 25-30k, new front rotors every 50-60k. The rear brakes may get double this.
4. Many of the other items you mention are, unfortunately, common repairs (ABS, horn contacts).
If the suspension and alignment are gone, start shopping for a new car. What else can go wrong? Maybe the tranny. Yes, you can maintain the 850 for longer (and cheaper than a new car), but what is the nuisance factor worth to you?
