I had the same problem. Car stopped on the freeway and had to tow it home. I removed the fuel line (under the hood, top of spark plugs cover near timing belt cover). Crank the car and see if fule comes out (make sure to remove spark plug coil wire to prevent sparkss). If not remove it from fuel filter and have someone start the car while you watch from under. I don't know where relay is but I checkd the power to fuel pump and got 12VDC. So I was sure that the fuel pump was bad. Fuel pump is located at the trunk close to passanger side rear skock. Follow Haynes manual and you will see it. Dealer sells it for $350 and I bought one at local part store for $235 (Bosch). You might be able to find it cheaper from some Vovlo website. Good luck.
