Fewer 850 problems after Avalon? Certainly! 850

My only reservation about Toyota is that they can't cope with the "fringe" element (like me), by which I mean the sort who like station wagons with 200+ hp and manual transmissions. For the more "normal" 98% of potential buyers they're just fine.

We looked at the '01 Avalon when my wife bought her Odyssey, decided on the minivan instead because she was still a Girl Scout leader. She seems to be gravitating towards a car next time.

The new Honda Accord V6-EX reminds me of the 850, right down to the seat heater controls. Betcha it's in the shop a lot less often. The main reason I don't drive one right now is that they don't offer the 6-speed in the 4 door!
