engine misfire on and off 850

Hi
She is an 11/1994 850 SE 2.5, she has 180000K on the clock and has been serviced as per the service book. The strange thing is that she works fine for about 2-3 minutes and then the engine starts to cut out and sputter and the rpms drop and then recover. I am going to change the oil tomorrow. Could it be that the engine is really fouled up and dirty? When I drive the acceleration is really rough and shuddery. I have replaced the spark plugs with NGKs. Do you have any suggestions where I should start to look at?
