Due to the difference in imperial and metric gallons, the conversions are a little different. Use uses imperial gallons while our litres is metric. So doing all the math and creating a general formula, you get the correct conversion formula=is miles=282/km or vice versa km=282/miles. So just remember 282. So miles/gallon=282/10 gives 28.2 miles/gallon.
