We're not comparing apples with apples here. Having one of each (a 96 850 and a 99 9-5), the 9-5 is the same size and weight as the S80. The new 9-3 is more like the S60 in size and performance (ie. more sporty). But I agree that the new S60R should be faster than the sportiest 9-3. We'll have to see when they decide to release the Viggen, if it will be competitive with the R's.
Overall, both good cars..
