Even in the desert you can expect your coils to produce condensation - it can't be avoided (unless you are out of refrigerant). Further, this is not a problem - it's a feature that's documented in the manual.

I agree it could adversely impact battery life but it's something I've learned to live with (Volvo's original batteries aren't great to start with so the sooner I get to a battery with deep reserves the better.)
