I did not replace the springs. My Volvo Inde Mechanic went ahead and put new seats on the rear based on what mine looked like. Also, he replaced both tie rod ends. (@100,000 miles, that was the first suspension/steering work I have had done). By the way, I originally wanted to have him install the HD Bilstins on my 850, based on how well these are doing on my 740. But, he strongly recommended the Bilstien Touring shocks for the 850 instead of the HD's. I didn't measure the vehicle height before and after the shocks were installed.
