Maybe someone out there can help me with this one; I've had a whine that I thought might be a bearing going out. Its been increasing over the last 3 months. I thought I'd do some checking myself as I've always had the dealer do everything. Checking around this site I figured it might be a front wheel hub. I jacked up the car and looked around and shook the tires. I found the right axle boot broken and grease had flung everywhere around the wheel. So I figured it was a bearing and made plans to get a Haynes manual to find out more about making the repair. When at the auto parts house I mentioned my delema to the clerk. He thought it might be more of a transmission problem and asked if I had check the fluid lately. I had'nt and went out to check it. I was on a level surface and had the engine idling after shifting through the gears (automatic) the dip stick indicates the fluid level to be double full. The fluid is a good 2 inches above the full mark. Would this create the whine? The transmission was serviced last January 15 by the dealer, nobody has touched it since. I drove straight home and now have the car sitting in my garage. Any Ideas? Please help....Cap
