I just bought a 93 850 and I was hunting for a particular fuse in the fuse box. I noticed on the listing that there is a fuse for the fan on settings 1,2,3 and a separate fuse for the climate control on fan setting 4.

I don't know if this will cure your problem but it is worth a try.
