Thanks for the replies. As Leo M and J suggested, I did find the detailed (and revised a couple of times) procedures from Volvo. Without the Volvo Scan Tool ($$$$) it is difficult to follow the precedures exactly, but I did my best with my Autoscan 9135. Well, after about 4 cycles of the test--and avoiding a couple rear end collisions--I still can't get any more of the I/M ready codes to flip.

I did find a way to get another extension on the re-inspection and to renew the plates. So I've got a couple of months for my computer to decide to cooperate.
