I would take a good look at your other fluids - power steering, brake fluid, coolant, etc. Some can be tested such as antifreeze. If your fluids are in poor condition, they could cause corrosion, sediment, etc.

I have seen posts and magazine articles on storing cars, but I cannot tell you where to find some.

I'd inflate the tires to maximun pressure, and think long and hard about removing the battery.
