Fault code 122 for the cruise means that speed has not exceeded 35 kph or speed signal absent. This code will ALWAYS be there UNLESS you first drive the car, and then check codes WITHOUT turning off the engine. If you still get a 122 after this, then the speed signal is absent. Most common cruise failure on 850 is perforated hose between vacuum pump and actuator. Second, corrosion at vac pump. The pump lives under the battery tray. The hose runs along the fender and through the firewall. The hose usually fails where it runs behind the battery. Easy to repair. Just cut out the damaged section of plastic hose, then splice with rubber vacuum hose.
