I am alo having this same problem and have had it for quite a while. It was not the gas cap. Next wtep will be to pressure test the system to test for leaks. From other threads I've read it could be leaks in the hoses or in the evap cannister. I just failed my emmissions test because of the CE light. Please post any solutions other than the gas cap!!!
