Yes, I've had the same problem. With my Chevy Astro van, and my Ford Ranger. They are all about the same, and I'll typically buy a new one from Manny Moe and Jack just before a smog test. The cap costs something like $7, but if the car fails and you have to retest, the charge is a lot more.

Bottom line, it's not just Volvos.
