Dealer smoke test for evap leak: a DIY method?

Depends on the yr,model of your car. In certain years since '98, Volvo has had ALOT of trouble finding a good supplier for decent Evap "purge" valves, the one that's next to the cooling fan. More recent cars have had even more serious problems like broken plastic fuel tank fittings which require new fuel tanks.
Unfortunately, Volvo can never seemingly get this stuff right and it gets old.
