Sold my V70 V70-XC70 1998

Why was the engine toast? What did the previous owner do to this? They must have abused the shit out of the engine for it to go that early. I have never seen a 5 cylinder fail at that kind of mileage.

They must have driven it and never changed the oil for the entire time they owned it. Or maybe it was an abused rental.
