Ahhh! 850

Can you explain exactly what part of the flex plate is bent? If it's one of the "windows" (squarish openings on the outer edge) then I can see how that's possible as the RPM sensor isn't getting a correct reading and the ECU would have a problem interpreting that and shut down.

Like I said, I've never seen anyone somehow bend one of those BUT I'll be keeping this story in mind for future referance as I'm sure it'll happen again to someone else.

Apparently, some at indy shops must be using a pry bar to turn the engine over or hold it while removing the torque convertor bolts (and probably w/o air tools). There's no need to do that as one should just turn the engine over with a socket on the vibration damper and use air tools with a good bit and no, I've never stripped one.

Is the indy shop going to pay your bill from the dealership? They should.
