I'e used Mobil-1 synthetic oil since my car was new. Mine still uses NO oil @ 132,000 miles. In fact, my previous Saabs used no oil at similar mileage, and I used dino-juice in them. Nor does my 18 year-old Porsche. I have the feeling that some POs use recycled unrefined coal tar from if they change the oil at all.

(Q. "Do you want us to use synthetic?" A. "Naaaaw it's a lease. Use the cheapest stuff you've got!" And they DO!)
