stiff throttle pedal V70-XC70 2000

It is an electronic "drive by wire" throttle. The gas pedal is
a variable switch that tells a motor on the throttle what to do
so there is no mechanical linkage from the pedal to the throttle.
(Well, thats a simplified description.)

I suspect the pedal's spring is all that you are feeling. You
might check with a dealer to see if there are any TSBs that
specify a different spring (I've never heard of one, but what
the heck).
