The numbers vary, but looking at various sources, it looks as though there were ±5000 T5R's and '95 was the only year for them. They were only available in black and yellow, though there apparently were around 1000 made in green for the european market. All T5R's imported to the US were automatics, although a few 5-speed have made their way down from Canada. Some members of the board have stated there were more black T5R's imported than yellow.
After '95, the model designation changed to just R although the cars were basically the same with slight changes to the rear spoiler, different wheels and, if I remember correctly, a slightly different turbo charger. the T5R's were listed at 240hp and the later R models at 236.
These cars suffer from all the same malodies as other 850's with the added disadvantage of a very harsh suspension due to the lowered springs and 17" tires.
Mine is not the cheapest car in the world as far as upkeep, but I do have an awesome set of tools now. i seem to have made it past the worst of it, at around 100-120k miles. It is a fun car to drive!
