1996 850 air pump failed again 850 1996

I would reset your CEL for free if you were replacing your pump that often in my garage:-)
There are several posts on this and volvospeed site that went through the following
-CEL gets set
-dealer quotes pump, valve, and sometimes controller replacement (big $$$)
-desperate and shocked Volvo owner follows volvospeed instructions, pulls the pump out, drains it, replaces the valve himself ($100), reinstalls the pump
-resets CEL
-pump runs OK
-the codes do not return
Always (100%) the valve is not closing and the pump fills with water. At freezing temperatures the water freezes the pump cannot run, code gets set. And very often the pump is still OK. All you have to do is drain it, drill 1/8" dia hole and the bottom of the scroll to drain any future condensation.
