V70 2.5T Octane survey

I have an '02 V70 2.4T and the octane requirements are the same as for your 2.5T. It's O.K. to use a minimum 87 octane, but the performance and mpg will suffer a little. What happens is that the cars computer will retard the timing to prevent engine knock. I usually use 93 octane but occasionally use 89. When I use 89 I notice a slight decrease in performance.
