OK, I got the spray paint from Auto Zone. I don't have the exact name but it was a Bumper and Trim paint that was described on the can as flexible (important given the nature of the trim piece). As far as getting the trim off, I removed the seperate slide-on piece at the rear of the roof and then used a large flat head screw driver with a rag rapped around it to avoid scratching anything, and pried up starting with the rear. The trim piece is attached via different snap type connectors so as you move along towards the front it just unsnaps as you gently pull carefully not to bend. I just did a little at a time to avoid any bending. Getting them back on was easy, I just started at the front by the wind shield and worked my way back. Occasionaly I gave a section a careful hit with my fist to snap it into place. That's it.
