Air Filters 850

i have also been looking at aftermarket air filters. a previous post (on this site, i believe) advised against the K&N in favor of Amsoil. as such, i am looking at the amsoil AF431 for my 97 850R, per brickboard's recommendation.
i am still not sure of which way i will go. if anybody has any advice/experience with regards to these K&N or amsoil AF431 filters, i would be interested.
