ok...this is basically a financial question....
1. the car is now worth didly squat...
2. the car has been reliable..but needs some money spending on it (after which it will STILL be worth didly squat
3. what would you replace it with, and how much will that cost you...(aka what would the motnhly 'bill' be - including depreciation...
4. what would the 850 cost to be put 'right' aka havign a mjour job on it e.g...
full brakes
tranny service
timming belt
full intake clean
leads,rotor arm, dizzycap,sparks
o2 sensors,
etc
(say $1500 MAX)
5 what repair bills can you expect running it...
6. how does all the above stack up...(guessing it gets quite atractive to just sort the 850 and run it till it DIES - or gets a majour bill (tranny or engine gone!)
i took this approach on a peugeot 405 and stacked 300k on it..then the head gasket went and th garage just said ..we dont even want to THINK about opening that engine up...)
