Hey guys, thanks for the input. I read in a couple of places that it was down below on the trans, thats why I couldnt find it, but I took out the air box and battery tray, and there it was on top. It is a 1994, but maybe its sporting a 95 transmission if thats possible?. I cleaned it and put it back, but the speedo is still a bit off at times, and the shifting isn't quite right. Guess I should have replaced it when I had it out. maybe tommorow....
P.S. The problem started after about 300 trouble free miles after I got the car from Stutz Volvo in Boston. I drove it 200 miles home, and another 100, and then I got the flashing arrow and the erratic shifting. It threw a 2-3-2 code 'speedometer signal missing '. It seems a number of things can cause this from what I read on the boards, so not being able to find the VSS I swapped the instrument cluster first and that didnt do it. Now with the Speed sensor cleaned and not solving it I will replace that. Then if it still doesnt work out comes the sawzall! I dont want to get into chasing a possible short in a wire somewhere, I would rather sell it for parts.
