Should cooling fan run all the time? 850

Hello

We recently had some warm weather so I switched on the a/c. The fan started running as normal but I noticed the compressor clicking on and off erratically somethimes it would be on for 15 seconds then on for 5 seconds.

Is this normal?

Should the cooling fan run only when the compressor cycles?
