In the Bay 13 step described:
Move the seat as far forward as you can. Move the seat controls out of the way by pulling up in the front, and then back. Leave the controls hooked up, just maneuver it around to the front of the seat.
is the point where you should be careful. The side air bag is mechanical
and the sensor/switch that triggers it is under the seat control cover.
It will be obvious when you move the cover out of the way (following the
above steps). Other then that I think you should be OK since it is
a mechanical system and there are not any wires or electrical parts
that could trigger it.
