No there is no "particular place" and the remote keyless range is very dissapointing for most new owners. The remote is also very susceptible to EMI/RFI interference. Here is an 'ol trick that was argued and criticized years ago on the B.B. Next time when standing a significant distance from the car, hold the fob up to your chin making contact. Your body acts as an antenna and adds significant distance to the transmission. Before anyone laughs at this suggestion, try it, it works.
