The pads can also take some time to seat. When I changed mine
I could not even get ABS to engage when I pushed the brake as
hard as possible. It was soft like that for a day or two.
Needless to say, I was rather careful for the duration. Once
pads seated it stopped like new.

I also used OEM pads and bleed brake lines with a pressure bleeder.
