I new this would happen..... 850 1994

That sounds normal..I would never take my car to a dealer for service only because I just wouldn't trust them with my car. Dealers like to keep your car in tip-top shape (mostly because it's profitable). A car that is not new will have parts that are not in 100% new condition, and dealers will write-up replacement of any part that is not in "new" condition. Some people will spend a great deal of $$$ to keep all the parts on their car "new". If you never want to get "burned", just take the time to know your car and know it's condition BEFORE and AFTER you take it in for service..

I recently took my 850 in to an ind. mechanic for rear main seal replacement. Since they always have a lot of Volvos in the shop at any given time, I took many pictures of my engine and transmission..and made scuffs and marks on obscure places and took pictures of those marks. A few days later, when I got my car back, I checked, and the specially (and secretly) marked engine and transmission were still in my car. The added peace of mind was well worth those pics and "branding" my own car's parts. I recommend that you take a similar approach, it'll make you feel better when you leave your car with the mechanics. Good luck!
