I'd be inclined to pull an oil sample and let a lab check for coolant (among other things) in the oil. If you do send in a sample, note in the special remarks that you suspect possibility of coolant in the oil and they will (usually) pay a bit more attention to that.

You can also put a dye in the coolant. Drive a while, and UV light will show you if there are any leaks, even very slow ones where the fluid evaporates rapidly.
