(almost) new to Volvos-need help with potential purchase (97 850R) 850

I have a 97-R in Denver SE I bought new with 84 miles on the clock. Mine is black with just over 90k on the clock. Not much you can do about the leather. I would definitely have "good" mechanic check it out. A car like that, with the wrong owner, can be beat to death simply because it is an R, and then made to look nice before they dump it.

You might try Moregolf's suggestion and try looking at his cars. From what I have seen of his posts, I would put a reasonable amount of trust in him sight unseen.
