no spark 850 1996

I would suspect the cam position sensor, no signal from this will cause the no spark condition.

Have you checked the engine ECU for codes?

Pre '96 have a DLC in the engine compartment

For post'96

If you use this link, you should be able to read/reset codes for a motronic 4.3 ECU This certainly works in the UK/EU not sure about US
